The long awaited Warm 2 marks a return to the DJ market from Ecler. The first DJ product created by the Barcelona based manufacturer in 13 years comes in the shape of a narrow format, 2 channel rotary mixer that pays homage to the origins of House music. The rotary mixer rose to prominence in the early House and Disco clubs around the US in the late 80’s. Venues such as New York’s Paradise Garage and Studio 54 were famed for their hi-fi rotary mixers as well as the infamous Warehouse in Chicago after which the Warm 2 is named (Warehouse Analog Rotary Mixer = WARM).

Despite their popularity, rotary mixers gave way to linear style mixers in the early nineties as the demands of DJs shifted, while genres and subcultures like battle mixing and scratching expanded worldwide. However, rotary style mixers have seen a resurgence over the last few years with an extensive list of DJ’s choosing a more traditional approach to their mixer choice.

The likes of Jamie XX, Palms Trax and Suze Ijo have opted for a range of hand-made rotaries on their riders for years now which has helped bring the style to the forefront. The boutique nature of the hand-made mixers has previously meant that options were limited when it came to more entry level rotary products. Ecler introducing the Warm 2 comes at a perfect time as more DJ’s are looking to make the switch to rotary in their home, studio and touring setups.

The Warm 2 is a 2 channel rotary mixer with a comprehensive 3 band EQ, send/return section and dedicated mic channel all running through a silky smooth “4th Order Isolator” on the master output.

The slimline format of the mixer makes it a more compact option than most mixers but the all analog signal path and high quality components including Alps Blue Velvet Potentiometers ensure that the Warm punches well above its weight when compared with its peers.
