The USB 3.0 slots on the back can also be used for MIDI controller connectivity, allowing you to plug your MIDI controller/keyboard directly into the MPC for playing built-in instruments from The Vault 2.0.

    MPC Software
MPC Live is powered by Akai's MPC software which runs natively on the MPC Live in standalone mode and can also be run from a Mac or PC with the Live connected to a computer.

    MPC 2.4 Software Update
The new MPC 2.4 software update provides MPC X with a number of user-requested features and workflow enhancements, notably the addition of 28 must-have effects from the critically-acclaimed AIR Music Technology and a much-requested side-chain compressor, the Mother Ducker.

The original AIR Creative FX collection, included as part of Pro Tools® since Version 8 is considered the reference FX suite by the world’s most top audio professionals. With MPC 2.4, this legendary suite of 16 mix essentials has been ported to MPC for immediate use with standalone or desktop MPC software; this core range of effects has also been expanded to include 12 new plugins, including the AIR Channel Strip and AIR Transient. Each effect has been expertly designed with ease of use in mind and the stunning new TUI layouts take using effects inside MPC to a whole new level.

Also new in MPC Software 2.4 is the inclusion of the Mother Ducker and Mother Ducker Input plugins – this much-requested pair of processors enables users to achieve side-chain ducking effects in the MPC Standalone or desktop software. Additionally, the internal architecture of clip programs has been significantly improved, allowing MPC users to play up to 16 programs simultaneously – when changing tracks or changing a sequence, clips will continue to play accommodating greater flexibility in live performance scenarios.

    Packed with sounds
The MPC is known for having sounds that hit hard and sound great, right out of the box. So MPC Live comes with 10 GB of world-class sounds, The Vault 2.0 features samples and kits from top-notch sound design companies including Capsun Audio, MVP Loops, CR2 Records, as well as Akai's own radio-ready kits.
